Let Me Tell You About My
“Are You Loving Yourself
As you Love Your Neighbor?”

Funshop…

Imagine entering a nice large room where there are a couple dozen excited folks who want to learn to love themselves more, and to feel better about themselves than they do.  These are kind, outgoing people who probably chatter and are so friendly that you wouldn’t guess they suffer from crippling self-doubt.  They are a range of ages, with some in their 20s and some in their 60s.  Some couples, a bunch of singles.  Your first impression upon walking in is, “Hey, I like this already…”
As I say once or 163 times in the 10 by 10 workbook, we are all The Walking Wounded.  There are longings we have which will not be fully satisfied in this short lifetime of 27,375 days.  And there are pains we suffered which will not fully heal.
But a lot of healing is possible.  We don’t have to hate ourselves and drag ourselves around writhing in our own skin.  We can feel a good measure of relief, lighter, better about ourselves and our place in the world.  And when we DO FEEL BETTER ABOUT WHOM WE ARE we stop treating ourselves so hatefully.  We don’t need to binge eat or drink any more.  Our depression lifts.  We don’t feel a need to isolate in own cave.  We show who we are.  We connect.  We get out into the mainstream.  We find some friends, and have some joys.  Even a little peace…
There is the benefit of universality when we learn in a group.  When you see how others struggle with some of the same things you do, you feel so, so NORMAL.  And you feel a great lift—like there IS HOPE FOR YOU.  The relief is big and full and it helps a lot.
Here’s what the LYasYLYN Funshop looks like
The Funshop is designed to help bring balance and comfort to the lives of those who feel continuously over responsible, constantly guilty, seldom satisfied, and nearly always in a desperate state of ‘I’m-so-tired-but-there’s-so-much-else-to-do!’  We also address the accompanying symptoms of depression and debilitating fatigue that come from taking too much care of others and not enough for ourselves.
What You will Experience
You will be with about 24 other people.  You will engage in fun, lighthearted, but transformative exercises with them, and you will learn to heal yourself from your own experiences, as well as watching the healing experiences of others.  There is greatly expanded opportunity for learning by doing this with a group.
You and the other participants will help each other get past your shame working together.  My Funshop is long on exercises, brief in lecture.
You won’t be sitting and taking notes (though I will give you some notes to bring home); you will be moving around and interacting.  The concepts are simple to grasp but mastery is challenging, and takes practice.  I will provide maximum opportunities for ‘trying-on’ the new learning.  The growth and ease comes—not from knowing the concepts—but having healing experiences.  This also allows you to continue what you learned as you get back home.  So you get better and better.
The Funshop is silly-and-serious, and undoubtedly a touching experience for you.  Typically folks leave feeling like they have learned a lot that they never knew before.  Oh, and they had a blast.
Preparation
I suggest you read and do at least some of the exercises in chapter 1 of the 10 by 10 workbook.  If you have the basic idea of ‘Loving Yourself as You Love Your Neighbor’ before you arrive, it will give you a good head start, and you will benefit even more from the Funshop.
I got some of my ideas for the book from live sessions of the Funshop, and a number of exercises we do in the Funshop are also in the workbook.
